Women & Multitasking

In the article " Are women really better at multitasking"? The team of British researches have said that "Women are better than men at juggling more than one task at once". The researchers got 50 males and 50 females and had them do 3 task in 8 minutes at the same time. The tasks given were "Solving math problems, finding restaurants on maps and coming up with a plan to find a lost key in an imaginary field. Woman actually are better at handling more than one task. According to the article, When finding the lost key in the field the woman performed that task better than the men did. The woman started looking in a corner and continued using a strategy on the field to look for the key. A researcher says, "Woman were better at being able to stand back". The woman got a better understanding of what the tasks were, they thought about it and got the right mindset without rushing and was able to succeed at one of the tasks given by the British researchers. The men had more problems handling task than the woman did according to the article.

One particular idea I thought was important was when it was said in the article, ‘Woman really are better than men at juggling more than one task’. I agree with this idea because woman put in more effort. Woman are more dominant then men because men are only good for physical use mean while woman are better at everything. For example, when I was in high school I wanted to graduate that was my goal so I did everything I could to make that happen. I did extra credit work stayed after school studied hard and didn't miss a day or a class. It all payed off in the end because I did graduate. Women have a better understanding of things than men do, You can tell a woman something and they’ll automatically come up with a solution but a solution beneficial for everyone.

The woman understood what the tasks were, they thought about it and got the right mindset without rushing and was able to come up with a solution to succeed at one of the most complicated tasks given by the team of British researchers. According to the article, a researcher says “It shows that women are better at being able to stand back and reflect for a moment while they are juggling other things.” When the researchers said that it reminded me of when I had a paper due I was rushing and just writing anything but I re read it over and it was just all over the place so I thought about what my topic was and I organized my thoughts and reasons and was able to put it together in a better essay than before. The researchers can agree that woman can come up with solution to finish the task.

The men were put to shame when it came to developing a plan to find the lost key. The woman came up with a solution and was the first to complete the task. As you can see woman don't just jump and do something without any thought, they think about what they need to do to get it done. For example, my mother worked as a real estate agent and she had a house to put on the market but she couldn't put it up unless it was appealing to buyers so she checked for anything that would be a problem in the house and she took care of it so it would be able to be sold to a someone. There was a problem and she came up with a solution and did what she needed to do to get the job done same as the woman in the article when given a task to do.

In Conclusion, Woman come up with solutions that benefit everyone. Men aren't better at multitasking. Woman take the title of being able to handle more than one task at the same time because woman put in effort better than men do.

                                          Seeking Balance in Airport Screening

In “Administration to Seek Balance in Airport Screening” Scott Shane points out that airport screening has become too demanding and there has been threats of new terror attacks on the air crafts. Obama’s administration was offended when hearing the security measures have gone to far. They're demanding the procedures that are happening should be “justified” by the risks. According to Shane, when the “aggressive” pat down procedure was brought up by the agency the officials tried polls and getting opinions from the public on the use of body scanners. For these people Scott Shane says, the body scanners are being limited as well as the pat down procedure for the secondary screening, but for the travelers who look suspicious. Scott Shane argues that the officials shouldn't be increasing security for all the passengers but should consider keeping an eye on certain passengers such as watching their behavior and questioning the ones who pose a threat.
